American Artists Project

AAP Logo_Horizontal.png

I helped build AAP’s marketing department from the ground up alongside one other teammate. In this capacity I wrote audience‑facing copy across multiple formats: outreach emails promoting our events, a travel guide for donors, and a last‑minute impact statement for a major donor. These materials supported AAP’s fundraising efforts and helped engage both our community and our supporters.

The American Artists Project (AAP) is a nonprofit arts organization that invests in under‑resourced artists and helps underrepresented communities see their stories on stage

Dance Party Activation

Planned and promoted a donor dance party during Amplify Austin to increase votes for American Artists Project.

Secured a venue partnership with Rain on 4th, distributed drink-ticket incentives, and conducted influencer outreach to drive attendance, engagement, and on-site donations.

Amplify Austin

Amplify Austin Day is a 24‑hour, community‑wide giving event. Each year, Central Texans donate online. Since 2007, the program has generated $139 million for area organizations. It’s a highly competitive environment, with charities vying for donations and recognition.

Challenge

AAP had no budget for paid promotion yet needed to boost awareness and attendance at its annual Amplify Austin fundraiser while competing with larger organizations.

Primary Deliverable

Broadway Brunch is American Artists Project’s monthly donor event, where grant recipients perform for supporters and share their work. This edition was unique in that it brought donors together for a curated weekend in Portland, Maine.

Created as both a practical resource and an extension of the event experience, the guide organizes local recommendations into easy to navigate sections so guests can spend less time planning and more time connecting with the city, the community, and the arts.

Impact Report

This impact report presents the American Artists Project’s fundraising efforts through clear, outcome driven reporting for prospective supporters. When leadership needed materials immediately following a donor meeting, I stepped in to research, structure, and produce the report despite having no prior experience creating an impact report.

Role: Copywriting - Data Sythesis - Design
